May 21st – 23rd 2019 | Sofia

The second GRECO Consortium Meeting takes place from May 21st – 23rd 2019 2019 in Sofia. The host is Nikolay Tyutyundzhiev of CL SENES (Central Laboratory of Solar Energy and New Energy) of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. At these bi-annual meetings, the eleven partners in the GRECO project will discuss progress and initial scientific results.

GRECO is a pilot project of the European Commission with three main focuses: open science, responsible research and innovation as well as the development of socially responsible and citizen-oriented solar energy.

Sabine Haas, researcher in the Research Unit Transformation of Energy Systems and Head of the GRECO Project at RLI, represents the Institute at the consortium meeting. Together with the partner institutions, she will present first results from the work package “High Penetration of Photovoltaics”. This includes above all the development of innovative photovoltaic technologies and their responsible integration into the energy system.

As part of the consortium meeting, there will be a workshop introducing the participants to the methods of “Applying Responsible Research and Innovation Concepts (RRI)”, as was the case last year at the workshop in Berlin.
