Gokarna Dhungel
B.Sc. in Physics (Tribhuvan University, Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus)
Info
Gokarna Dhungel was a student assistant in the Research Unit Off-Grid Systems at RLI from February 2022 to July 2022. At that time, he was enrolled in the M.Eng. Renewable Energy Systems program at the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
In context of his work for the PeopleSun project, Gokarna supported the team in developing a demand modelling tool based on an existing Python based open-source tool RAMP that will create typical load profiles for different consumer types.
Gokarna holds a bachelor's degree in physics from the Tribhuvan University of Nepal. Apart from his work at RLI, he was also involved in a project at Nordhausen University. In the “Energy Atlas project for Moluccan Islands, Indonesia”, he was supporting the team by analyzing the techno-economic feasibility of integration of high share of renewable sources in the pre-dominantly fossil-fuels based electricity supply system of Ambon city.
Tasks at RLI
- Study of the functionality of the RAMP tool and the demand database
- Add and adapt Python code to create an interface to the demand database
- Add and adapt Python code to automate the load profile generation process
- Support the Team with project related administrative tasks
