Jan Carsten has been a student assistant in the Off-Grid Systems research area at RLI since April 2024. He is currently enrolled in the Master's degree in Industrial Engineering for Energy and Resource Management at the Technical University of Berlin. Jan is writing a thesis for the Green HyRECA project, in which he is investigating the energy system in Kazakhstan with the help of energy system modeling with regard to the potential of green hydrogen.
Tasks at RLI
- Analysis of the Kazakh energy system by means of energy system modeling
- Preparation of a Master's thesis as part of the Master's program in Energy and Resource Management at the TU Berlin
- Programming of an energy system model with programming language PyPSA
