Romy Seiler has been a researcher in the RLI Research Unit Mobility with Renewable Energy since February 2022. She focuses on effects of new charging infrastructure and develops and evaluates a cause-effect model for this purpose.
Before working at RLI, Romy was a research associate at the TU Dresden Chair of Logistics and Transportation Engineering. She conducted research on mathematical optimization methods, algorithms and artificial intelligence for resource scheduling. Previously, she worked in two research projects at the Institute for Infrastructure and Resource Management at the University Leipzig.
Romy studied transportation economics at the TU Dresden and deepened her knowledge in the fields of transport ecology, environmental economics, econometrics and statistics. In her final thesis she investigated the effect of various influencing factors on the acceptance of transport levies for financing public transport. After her studies, she completed advanced trainings on Python, big data analytics, and machine learning, among others.
In addition to her work, Romy is active in the climate justice movement and is testing herself in the use and challenges of photvoltaic off-grid systems. She is interested in data analytics and is involved in a skill sharing network about PV off-grid system especially for female socialized people.
