Andra Backhaus

B.Sc. Thermal and Energy Engineering (Université Grenoble Alpes)

Former student assistant

Info

Andra Backhaus was a student assistant in the Research Unit Mobility with Renewable Energy at RLI from September 2021 until February 2022. He supported the RLI in the context of the Study: The contribution of decentralized electrolyzers to the energy transition. Andra was already a student assistant in the RLI Research Unit Off-Grid Systems from July 2020 until the end of July 2021. He is enrolled in the master's degree program "Renewable Energy Engineering and Management" at Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. In context of his work for the RLI-project open_plan, he was writing his thesis. In his thesis he examined a new energy system planning methodology called the cellular approach. He focused on the possibility for different energy cell sizes to integrate new renewable energy sources while reducing the impact on the national grid.

Andra holds a bachelor's degree in Thermal and Energy Engineering from Université Grenoble Alpes (France). During his last year, he specified in Environmental Sciences at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Finland). His main focus was on renewable energy system planning.
