Ulrike Herrmann was a student assistant in the Research Unit Mobility with Renewable Energy at RLI from November 2019 to the end of October 2020. She was enrolled in the master's degree program Physical Engineering Science at the Technical University of Berlin with thematic focus on fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. In context of her work for the project HyStarter, she was writing a thesis examining a control algorithm for energy systems.
