Organized by the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) Inc. in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in the context of the “renewables – Made in Germany” initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the 5th Philippine-German Energy Forum in Cebu City aimed at initializing business partnerships between German and Philippine companies, in order to foster technology and know-how transfer and the development of the Philippine PV off-grid and mini-grid market.
Representatives of participating German companies, namely: PV2 Energie GmbH, QINOUS GmbH, ib Vogt, SaEnergy Systems GmbH, Autarsys GmbH, and 8p2 Ingenieurspartnerschaft Obst & Ziehmann, shared their broad range of technical solutions in the field of PV-Hybrid alternatives. The 5th Philippine-German Energy Forum was very well received by more than 90 participants, mainly stakeholders from the energy sector including local solar energy companies, distribution utilities, electric cooperatives as well as regulatory authorities and administration.
The business trip consisted of a one day forum on October 28, two days of individual business matchmaking and a project site visit in Pangan-an Island. The aim for the German companies is to gain a thorough understanding of the Philippine market opportunities and the identification of business partners, thereby facilitating the entry of high-quality German technology into the local market.
