Travelling Conferences 2

February 7th – 15th 2019 | Southeast Asia

For the second time, RLI is going on a journey for renewable energy. During a one-week trip, three RLI researchers will visit the cities Yangon (Myanmar), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Vientiane (Laos) together with partners from different sectors. In each city, they will host a so called “Travelling Conference”. These are one- or two-day workshops in cooperation with local partner institutions, where the need for research and collaborative potential in renewable energy research in the area will be identified and discussed.

The “Travelling Conferences” belong to a series of events funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, in which German experts and early-career researchers in other countries present current research topics. These events are meant to provide platforms for the development of international cooperation. Within this framework,  RLI has taken the responsibility to organize conferences on sustainable energy access in Southeast Asia. In late 2017, the first trip took place and included the cities Bankok, Singapore, and Jakarta.
