Heraeus-Seminar: Nonlinear Dynamics, Optimization, and Control of Distributed Energy Systems

January 28th – 31st 2018 | Bad Honnef

RLI Managing Director Kathrin Goldammer and Jann Launer, researcher in the RLI field Transformation of Energy Systems, will be speakers at the „661st Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Seminar: Nonlinear Dynamics, Optimization, and Control of Distributed Energy Systems”. The seminar focuses on the analysis and modelling of complex dynamics in energy networks as well as challenges in the design and operation of future grids.

Kathrin’s presentation is titled “Dispatch Optimization from Electric Vehicles to Power Plants“ and will include experience with dispatching problems form an industry perspective. Jann will present a poster themed “Energy system modeling – Challenges to linear representations and approaches to non-linearities with the heat sector as an example“, which will show advantages of linear approximations and/or non-linear optimization in context of the oemof_heat project.

The seminar is hosted by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)  and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ). It is funded by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation. The seminar aims at providing a discussion platform for students and researchers from Germany and Europe and therefore fostering a diverse exchange on energy transition topics.

Please find further information on the seminar on KIT’s website.
