SUUCCM Conference

September 13^th – 14^th 2018 | Berlin

Zakia Soomauroo , PhD candidate at TU Berlin and researcher in the RLI Research Field Off-Grid Systems , will attend a conference entitled “Systematizing and Up- scaling Urban Solutions for Climate Change Mitigation” (SUUCCM). Her lpresentation is titled “Insular Frontrunners: The special opportunity of island states to transition to low-carbon mobility systems” and deals with the transport transition on islands. Zakia argues that islands can take a pioneering position in the transition to low-emission urban mobility options.

The conference is hosted by the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) at the Berlin EUREF campus and addresses the role of cities in climate change from a variety of perspectives. For more information on the conference, please visit its website.
